Making black-out poetry is a good mind-muscle builder. It's fun. It can be very serious. It's accessible and approachable. It's an excellent way to get people with low literacy on board with writing.

Here's the progress of making one. For a summer I made a black-out poem every morning instead of reading the paper. I was a lot calmer.
