This is all experimentation.
Most of my writing that appears here is currently stacked chronologically in the words section, which is a blog format. It's clear this has its limitations--scrolling backwards being a big one for me, and limited layout options for the images. I'm not super happy with it and would prefer to create a page devoted to my essays and poems, leaving my other forms of writing in the blog scroll. But I like the blog function that enables me to tag pieces by topic category. And then there are the zines and artist books. Where, oh where, will I put that? Alas.
For now, I've made peace with it all.
I recently migrated some work from the words page over to the gallery pages where the pieces join more cohesively within their fuller conceptual bodies. That same work also appears where it was originally located within the chronology of that blog format, so there's overlap--for now.
zoetrope also has facebook, twitter, and tumblr pages (I know, tumblr)--none of which I really maintain at all these days. I'm most active on Instragram, and enjoy it for the pleasure I get from simply posting stuff without trying to sell anything, or network, or extend my reach (very un-strategic I know, and probably to my detriment). I just really like having a place where I can share what I make without asking for anything in return. I may also start using Vimeo to exhibit the moving image work I'm starting to play around with, another consideration to address. And, like so many things about life, it's all a work in progress. So stay tuned, and thanks for bearing with.
